Eligibility Criteria (2009)
The eligibility criteria is located on the front of the Nomination and Entry Forms.
To be eligible to enter all businesses must meet the following:
- Businesses can only enter one category of the awards by submitting an entry form.
- The business must reside in one of the six (7) Local Government Areas of Gippsland (Bass Coast Shire, South Gippsland Shire Council, Baw Baw Shire Council, Latrobe City, Wellington Shire Council, East Gippsland Shire Council Cardina Shire, post codes 3812,3814, 3815, 3912, 3980,and 3984) and comply with one and only one of the categories listed on the entry form.
- Is a sole trader, partnership or Pty. Ltd. Company that has a base in Gippsland and employs people who live in Gippsland – this includes owner operators.
- Is not a club, co-operative or a not for profit organisation.
- Is not a government funded business or a government agency. Entities that are the responsibility of and/or funded by other agencies and/or that currently receive significant financial support from other funding, (for example: Local, State or Australian Government, philanthropic organisations) are not eligible to enter.
- Hall of Fame Award recipients are not eligible to re-enter.
- Previous Category Winners and Business of the Year can not enter in future awards for a one (1) year period from the date they received their award.
- Previous winners of the New Business Category are ineligible to enter this category.
The Bendigo Bank Gippsland Business Awards are open to:
Sole traders; partnerships; Pty Ltd or listed public company’s; that
have a base in Gippsland and employ people who live in Gippsland.
- Employees and immediate family of the Award organizers, Bendigo Bank
or any sponsors associated with the Awards are not eligible to enter.
- Hall of Fame Award recipients are not eligible to nominate.
- Entities that are the responsibility of and/or funded by other agencies
or projects and/or that currently receive significant financial support
from other funding bodies (eg. Local, State or Federal Government,
Philanthropic Organisations or Trusts) are not eligible to nominate.
General Information Requirements
This general information must accompany the category entry and is located on the front of the entry form and is required to be completed by all participants
as part of the entry submission.

All businesses that wish to be considered for the Gippsland Business Awards must have a base in Gippsland and employ people who live in Gippsland.

Description of your business. (i.e. business profile)
To assist in the judging of the Gippsland Business Awards the judging panel need to know your principal business activity. You should include the following:
- A brief history of your business and its location(s)
- An overview of your products, services and market
- How you have developed and grown the business
- Any major achievements or milestones during the life of the business
Any information which is included in this answer that is relevant to a later question should be included in both responses. (500 words or less)
